I'm down here with the dogs

with the roots of trees

and the things that crawl among them

for the fecund writing

in the truth of our blood and bleeding

and cumming and throbbing

and the pale droplets of mother's milk

that taughten the oldest and toughest of titties

whenever any baby cries.

I am here for the tough stuff

not the marshmallow fluff

for the roasting bones over the balefire

for the nights when the wrongs done

are so potent that all you can do

is hedgewitch rage magic

with tears and snot and piss and your

curses shouted into the dark.

I am here for the real stuff

the old haunted stories

that keep you awake at night

the rattles and clacks from the closet

the rustlings from beneath your bed.

and for the joy, too, the deepest purest

dancing in the darkness

naked on the beach

as the bioluminscence blooms

over your goosebump breasts and belly

for the moon magic and the meteor shower.

when the wolf stalks your dreams

and the snakes slide through your bones

when you can feel the fingers

poking uninvited into your viscera
