Wailing Circle

Ceremony Info

This annual event is an opportunity to process grief, rage, frustration, hurt, and other powerful emotions by giving voice and sound to them. We will have a brief talking circle before we begin. The essence of this ceremony is to bring what we need to let go of through vocalization and percussion. It is a personal and very intimate gathering. Usually, at the end, everyone departs in silence, but I will go with the energy of the moment in this.

Everything more that you need to know will be fully explained before we begin. There will be time to ask questions.

What we won’t do is process or share our experiences—I invite you to take the potency of this unbinding to your journal or a voice recording and then to allow yourself time to process internally before sharing with anyone. 28 days, or a moon cycle is my suggestion. It gives you time to come to your own understanding and lessens the likelihood of diluting your experience through the words and opinions of others.

If you need to leave at any time, it’s okay, but please be careful driving. Maybe sit in your car or under a tree for a little while so that you are grounded and present before getting behind the wheel.

Parking and Gathering Info

We will meet in the back yard, to the Left of the house. Just walk down the driveway and to the back yard, we will be there.

Wear warm clothes, good shoes, bring a chair or blanket to sit on and you drum, rattle, etc. Having a water bottle with you is also a good idea.

The photos below are for those who have never been here and who might feel a little awkward about finding us. Apologies if it seems a bit didactic but I have lost folks fairly often due to the amount of open space and the hesitancy we all feel sometimes when coming into an unfamiliar group or space.

There will be a donation jar if you would like to leave something for me but there is no expectation or requirement.

This is me, in case we haven’t met. I’ll be easy to find. xoxo
